01 — Terraforming
Genetically engineered colossal trees designed to terraform entire ecosystems and reshape planetary atmospheres.
The Vision
Imagine a tree that stands a kilometer tall. Its root systems span entire valleys. Its canopy creates its own weather patterns. Its metabolism processes carbon dioxide at a scale that can measurably alter a planet's atmospheric composition.
This is not fantasy. It is the logical endpoint of synthetic biology applied to the most successful carbon-capturing organisms Earth has ever produced.
By engineering the fundamental genetic programs that govern tree growth — the genes for cell division rate, wood density, root network architecture, and photosynthetic efficiency — we can create organisms that operate at a scale nature never attempted.
Applications
Process CO₂ at geological scale. A forest of titan trees could measurably reduce atmospheric carbon within a decade — not centuries.
Trees large enough to serve as buildings, bridges, and vertical cities. Infrastructure that grows, self-repairs, and produces oxygen.
Seed barren planets with titan tree variants engineered for alien atmospheres. The first step in making other worlds habitable — biology as terraforming.
